Our History

Savory Moments Catering is the culmination of a dream shared by two sisters.  In 2009, Heather Scovel and Jodi Wright opened Savory Moments Catering in a small suite equipped with a commercial kitchen, jumpstarting their business through local corporate events, farmer’s markets, and local school lunch programs.  Though they were small, they were undaunted by the size of any project, catering for events with more than 1600 guests.  Throughout the next few years, the company grew steadily and in 2012, they were offered an opportunity to work with the Democratic National Convention.  This exposure brought about several new contracts and a burst in the growth of their business.  As a result, the sisters began the search for a more permanent home for their dreams and discovered the perfect place in Huntersville that would allow them the space to streamline their process and use their culinary talents to the fullest.  Purchasing a property in Huntersville gave Heather and Jodi a unique opportunity to work in the community where they lived, participating in local charities and donating food to causes close to their hearts.  The purchase of this property signaled a new direction for Savory Moments, expanding their vision to include a beautiful event space they christened Magnolia Woods.  Magnolia Woods boasts a 3,400 square foot indoor space as well as a stunning outdoor patio, complete with a fireplace and elegant water features, ideal for a ceremony or a party.  Heather and Jodi are thrilled with where this journey has taken them so far and are looking forward to the new endeavors and opportunities on the horizon with Savory Moments and Magnolia Woods.
